Lafford Group NHQB Membership Confirmed

Lafford Group NHQB membership has been confirmed as the organisation moves forward with activation of its membership of the New Homes Quality Board, marking a major step in its entry into new-build home sales and its commitment to the New Homes Quality Code.

The move comes as Lafford Group transitions into a new group structure, including Lafford New Homes as its development and sales arm, with open market sales scheduled to launch this spring.

Ian Penn, Lafford Group Managing Director, said: “Buying a new home should come with confidence. Aligning with the New Homes Quality Code is a clear statement of intent that we will put customer experience, transparency, and aftercare at the heart of our new home sales journey.”

Lafford Group NHQB membership supports the organisation’s commitment to clear customer information, transparent processes and strong aftercare as it prepares to enter new-build sales.

Lafford Group NHQB Membership Puts Customers First

As the Lafford Group prepares for its first homes for sale, adopting the New Homes Quality Code is designed to ensure customers can expect clear information, fair processes, and robust customer care with a strong framework for aftersales service and complaint handling embedded from the outset.

New Homes Quality Board Chief Executive, Emma Toms commented: “Committing to the New Homes Quality Code is an important step in raising standards in quality and customer service across the new homes sector. The Code sets clear expectations for quality, transparency, and customer service, and provides homebuyers with access to independent resolution through the New Homes Ombudsman Service, should they experience any issues with their new home. For developers, committing to the Code provides a clear framework for good practice, supporting consistent delivery and effective complaint handling. It also demonstrates a shared commitment to improving trust and driving higher quality outcomes across the new homes.”

Lafford’s business plan sets out a controlled and measured approach to market sales including phased releases, conservative assumptions, and careful monitoring of market conditions underpinned by a commitment to best practice and consumer protection.

A growing local pipeline of new homes

Lafford’s five-year plan forecasts starting work on residential schemes that will deliver at least 709 new homes across all tenures. Within those planned completions, 468 homes are forecast for market sale, alongside 100 market rent homes and 141 affordable homes supporting housing choice across North Kesteven and neighbouring communities.

Backed by public ownership and local priorities

Lafford Group is 100% owned by North Kesteven District Council (NKDC), combining a local public purpose with a commercial approach to delivery. The organisation’s plan is explicitly aligned with NKDC priorities around high-quality housing, sustainability, the local economy, and community wellbeing.

Rebrand and new website also launching 29 April

The NHQB milestone runs alongside Lafford’s wider transformation, including a full rebrand and the launch of a new website on 29 April 2026, supporting a clearer customer journey across rental and sales homes.
