Community & sustainability are embedded in every decision we make at Lafford Group. We do not just build homes; we help create places that lower environmental impact, strengthen local economies and support wellbeing over the long term.

Sustainable Housing Commitments

Designing Homes for Modern Living

We are committed to delivering homes that balance comfort, performance and long-term sustainability. Through thoughtful design, energy-efficient construction and evolving building technologies, we aim to create homes that are fit for the future while supporting lower environmental impact.

  • Our homes are developed to provide high energy standards and support low‑impact living.
  • Fabric‑first design: high‑performance insulation and air‑tightness to reduce heat loss.
  • Efficient heating and controls: high‑efficiency systems, with electric solutions where viable.
  • High‑quality glazing and ventilation for comfort and indoor air quality.
  • LED lighting and thoughtful positioning of sockets and switches.
  • Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) where appropriate to improve quality, speed and waste reduction.

Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG)

Enhancing Nature Alongside Development

We believe new development should contribute positively to the natural environment. All applicable developments will deliver the mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain requirements, helping create healthier and more resilient habitats for future generations.

We plan habitat creation and enhancement from the earliest stages of the development process, securing biodiversity gains for a minimum of 30 years and utilising registered off-site units where on-site delivery is constrained.

Our biodiversity gain plans are prepared in accordance with statutory guidance and local authority validation requirements, ensuring environmental enhancements are appropriately delivered, managed and monitored over the long term.

Local Employment & Supply Chain

SUPPORTING LOCAL BUSINESSES & SKILLS

We are committed to supporting local economic growth by working with businesses, suppliers and contractors wherever practical throughout the development process.

  • Working with local contractors, particularly SME’s, and accredited suppliers.
  • Keeping investment in the local economy through responsible procurement.
  • Encouraging opportunities that support local employment, skills development and long-term economic resilience
  • Building long-term relationships with local businesses and supply chain partners.

Community Engagement & Social Value

CREATING THRIVING COMMUNITIES

From concept to completion, we seek to create developments that positively contribute to the places in which they are located through thoughtful design, engagement and long-term stewardship.

  • Respect local character and infrastructure capacity.
  • Design around people with walkable layouts, safe routes and inclusive public realm.
  • Provide usable green space, play areas and biodiversity features.
  • Learn from customers and stakeholder feedback to ensure our new developments are attuned to their requirements and expectations.

Community & sustainability remain central to our long-term vision for growth across Lincolnshire.
